What is the ebt.ca.gov Cardholder Portal
The ebt.ca.gov website allows you to view your California EBT Card (Golden State Advantage Card) or P-EBT information online.
To login to your EBT or P-EBT Cardholder portal or to create a new account, continue reading below to see our full list by state.
With an ebt.ca.gov EBT Cardholder portal account, you can:
- Check Your CalFresh or CalWorks EBT Card Balance
- Review your most recent transactions
- Report a Card Lost or Stolen EBT Card
- Change your PIN
- Request a Replacement Card

How to Create a www.ebt.ca.gov Cardholder Account
Before you can login to your www.ebt.ca.gov cardholder account and view your California EBT or P-EBT account, you first have to create an account (register).
Here’s how to create an account:
Step 1 – Visit the ebt.ca.gov website
To start creating your ebt.ca.gov account, visit the ebt.ca.gov website at https://www.ebt.ca.gov/.
Once you are on the homepage you will need to locate the “First time logging in?” button, which is usually located at the bottom of the site (see image below).
Click on the “First time logging in?” button to proceed with the process.
Step 2 – Enter Information Requested
Next, you will be taken to a page like the one below where you will be required to enter the following information to create your account as shown below:
- California EBT Card Number
- EBT Case Number
- Birth Month
- Birth Year
- Select Language (English or Spanish)
- Email Address
- User ID
- Password
- Re-enter Password
Note that your User ID must be 4-35 characters in length and must contain at least one letter and may include special characters (!@#$%&).
Additionally, your password must be 8 – 16 characters in length, and include 1 uppercase letter, 1 lowercase letter, 1 number, and may include special characters (!@#$%&).
Once you have entered the requested information, click “Register” to complete the process.
Step 3 – Login to View your account
Next, you will be taken to the page below, which is your indication that you have successfully created an ebt.ca.gov account.
If you get an error message, the pop-up will tell you what information is incorrect.
Note that the information you enter will be matched to California Department of Social Services (CDSS) data to make sure you are an EBT cardholder.
It is therefore important to make sure the information you provide (Birth month and year, EBT Card Number, and EBT Case Number) matches what the CDSS has on file.

Follow the instructions below for help logging in to your ebt.ca.gov online account.
Step 1 – Visit the ebt.ca.gov website
To begin the login process for your ebt.ca.gov account, visit the ebt.ca.gov website at https://www.ebt.ca.gov/.
Once you are on the homepage you will see the login information page for your User ID and Password, as shown below.
Step 2 – Enter User ID and Password
Next, enter your account User ID and password, as shown above.
Once you enter the correct User ID and password, click “Login” to continue, as shown by the image above.
Step 3 – View your account
If you entered the correct User ID and password, you will be automatically taken to your EBT account page.
Once there, you can perform a variety of tasks. You can:
- Check Your EBT Card Balance
- Review your most recent EBT Card transactions
- Report a Card Lost or Stolen California EBT Card
- Change your PIN
- Request a Replacement Card
Forgot Password?
If you forgot your password, click on the “Forgot Your Password?” link as shown in the image below.
Next, you will be taken to a page like the one below where you will be required to enter the following information to retrieve your password:
- California EBT Card Number
- EBT Case Number
- Birth Month
- Birth Year
- User ID
Once you have entered the requested information, click “Reset Password” for instructions on how to reset your password.
What Fast Food Places Take California EBT/SNAP?
The Restaurant Meals Program (RMP) allows CalFresh recipients who are 60 years of age or older, disabled, or homeless to use their CalFresh benefits to purchase lower-cost prepared meals at approved participating restaurants in certain counties.
If you fit one of the groups described above, you can use your CalFresh California EBT card at select restaurants and fast-food chains throughout the state.
Currently, the restaurant meals program is active in the following counties:
- Alameda
- Fresno
- Los Angeles
- Madera
- Mariposa
- Monterey
- Orange
- Riverside
- Sacramento
- San Diego
- San Mateo
- Santa Clara
- San Francisco
- Santa Cruz
- San Luis Obispo
- Siskiyou
- Tehama
- Ventura
Restaurant Meals Program Now Statewide
A recent bill passed by the California legislature (Assembly Bill 942) has expanded the RMP to all counties in California.
As of September 1, 2021, The California Department of Social Services (CDSS) announced that the RMP has expanded to a statewide program.
The CDSS plans to have RMP restaurant vendors in every county in the coming years!
Therefore, as a result of this legislation, Solano CalFresh recipients who meet the eligibility requirements for the RMP (are 60 years of age or older, disabled, or homeless) can use their benefits to purchase food at restaurants statewide in counties that are participating in the program.

Grocery Stores that accept California EBT Online for Delivery
If you are a CalFresh EBT Cardholder, you can now use your EBT card online to buy groceries for delivery!
