Here’s how to sign up for Amazon Prime Discount for CalFresh EBT or Medi-Cal:
Step 1 – Visit the Prime Discount Site
Visit the Amazon Prime Discount website and click on “Get Started”. Click here to be taken to the website.
Step 2 – Upload EBT Card to Activate Discount
Next, you will be taken to a page where you will have to log in to your Amazon.com account or sign up for an amazon.com account if you don’t already have an account.
You need a current and valid EBT card to sign up. If you are currently receiving Food Stamps, WIC, TANF or General Assistance and have an EBT Card, you qualify.
Once you have logged into your Amazon account, you will be taken to a page like the one below.
Once there, perform the following functions as shown in the image below with arrows:
- Select “EBT” under “Choose how you want to qualify”
- Enter your EBT Card Number
- Select your state under “Issuing State”
- Upload a picture of your EBT card
- Check the box to confirm that your EBT card is current and valid.
- Once you enter the requested information, click the “Continue” button. The continue button will only show once you enter all the requested information.
- Next, you will be taken to a page to confirm your payment information.
- Once you add your payment information, you will be taken to the “Eligibility Under Review” page. This means Amazon is reviewing your request.
Step 3 – Start Enjoying Prime Discounts on Amazon
If your information is approved, you will be notified by email – which will be your indication that you are now ready to use Amazon Prime!
You can start enjoying Amazon Prime benefits right away.
Note: Every 12 months, you’ll have to verify you still have a current and valid EBT card.
You can enjoy your Amazon Prime EBT Discount for four years.

What can I buy with California EBT?
You can use your CalFresh benefits to buy groceries, snacks, and seeds or plants that will produce food.
However, you cannot use SNAP to purchase alcohol, tobacco products, vitamins, live animals, prepared foods, or any non-food household items.
Here is the list of food items you are allowed to purchase with your SNAP Benefits card:

How do I use California EBT Card at the Store?
Your California EBT card can be used at most food stores to buy eligible food items, including at:
- Grocery stores
- Convenience stores
- Supermarkets (like Walmart and Target)
- Farmers markets
- Pharmacies (that sell food)
Most will display “EBT Cards Accepted Here” signs.
Also, some will display the Quest Logo.
If you do not see the Quest® logo, your EBT card may still be accepted. Check with the store before shopping.
Follow these steps to use your EBT card at a store:
- At check-out, your card is swiped through the machine by you or the store cashier.
- Follow the directions on the machine to enter your PIN. Only you should enter your PIN.
- The cashier or the machine will provide you with the purchase amount. You may also enter the amount yourself.
Always check your receipt to make sure that the amount on the EBT purchase is the same as the grocery receipt.
Also, if your card cannot be swiped because it is damaged, contact EBT Customer Service (1-888-328-6399) and report the card as damaged.
A replacement card will be mailed to you. You can also request a replacement card at most CalFresh Offices.
